First Christmas!

Gees!! I think we need a bigger house after your first Christmas! I'd say you are very loved!!!!

Sunday the 23rd, we did our annual Christmas baking day at Auntie Rebecca and Uncle Ezra's house... You were very sleepy and didn't really want to do much of anything at all. I thought you had felt warm, but you were in Mickey fleece Jammie's so we just kept assuming that was why. we went ahead and checked your temperature and it was 102.9!!! Holy moly!!! Right before Christmas???? We hurried up and got you home away from everyone...especially Ma... She can not be around anyone that is sick due to her going through chemotherapy. That night, Auntie called and said another girls had low grade fevers too. Wonderful!

Christmas Eve
Your daddy's and I both had to work today and there was absolutely no way for us to get off work...Ma and Poppy watched you since your daycare was closed. I did not want you to get Ma sick, but she was adamant that she would be fine. Poppy met your daddy at Dr Parr's to get your ears and everything checked before Christmas; Kendalyn and Kass were in there too! Family reunion! Everything checked out fine for you...just a virus!!! Looked like you'd be able to enjoy Christmas after all. Mama got off around 2 and rushed home to see her baby...you were happy As ever playing with Ma and poppy, but I thought we should probably go home and let them rest up for all the upcoming christmas stuff (that was starting in a few hours.) We rested up too! You and I cuddled up and took a nice long nap...what a perfect start to Christmas! :) When Daddy got home, we celebrated christmas with each other! You boys spoiled me!!! You bought me a Willow statue of a mama holding her baby boy...that was so special! You mean the world to me and nothing makes me prouder than being your mama! Cuddling and cradling you makes all the world right! You guys also got me a NorthFace fleece, perfume, an iPad, and new shoes! I thought we were spoiling daddy with all his clothes we bought him...kind of made my gifts to him look small!!! HOWEVER, that is not what Christmas is about! Christmas is about our Lord Jesus's birth, Christmas is about spending time with family, Christmas is about giving to the less fortunate (which we did! We helped Sheena get presents for the family she adopted!) Christmas is about watching little one's faces light up when they see Santa...that's the magic of Christmas! Your Auntie said Kendalyn and Kassidy were going to have a heart attack they were so excited!!! I can not wait until you get to that age...putting out cookies for Santa, Putting out reindeer food, singing Christmas carols, etc etc. Anyhow, after we exchanged gifts...we did ALL of yours! You were so overwhelmed because mama and daddy might have gone overboard! Dancing Mickeys, Singing Mickeys, boy baby dolls, books, books, more books, Bouncing turtle rides, Baby trampolines, Little People sets, and so on and so on. It was fun watching you get excited after we got the toys out of the box! :) What mama didn't buy...Santa did!!! You are definitely loved!!! Afterwards, we did a family dinner at Ma and Poppy's. We wanted some extra special family time for Christmas; this year has been tough with Ma's cancer struggle and we are all so very thankful that she has fought this battle and was able to spend Christmas with us. She is so strong!

Christmas Day was jam packed! Lots of places to go!!! We did Christmas morning at Ma and Poppy 's and of course you were spoiled with lots and lots of gifts! Aunt Sheena and Uncle David made you a Mickey blanket, Ma and Poppy bought you so much!! Blocks, books, clothes, toys, and they got you a Disney train which you love, Auntie and Uncle Ezra bought you the ball pit you got a few weeks a go and other fun toys, and there was just so much more! Santa left you a stocking full of baby food! :). We then went to GG's, Lance's parents, and lastly Great Grandma Patty's. Everyone was so impressed with how well you are walking! You are taking more and more steps! They also loved all the babbling and talking you do! Boy, was there a lot to do in one day!!!!.We were exhausted!

Now that Christmas is over, and our house is a complete and total mess... You and I are so sick! I have worked so hard to try and get the house organized but I just feel miserable and I know that you do too!! Daddy has tried to help out as much as possible...I know it's only a matter of time until he catches it too. This little virus is nasty! Rebecca, Ezra, David, Kendalyn, and Kassidy all have it too! I hope and pray it does not go to your ears again... You have an appointment with the ENT 1/15 to discuss what to do with your frequent ear infections....I really don't want you to have to get tubes. I guess we will wait and see.

Your Ma had her scans today...they showed the spots have gotten bigger but her doctor still feels that there are lots of great options for her. So we are not losing hope or losing faith yet! They took her off chemo and back onto what's called hormone therapy. She said she is happy because you will finally get to see her with her real hair! :)
